Added ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: If you create an account, we collect the email address and password you provide (or sign-in via your institution). We do not sell this information.
- Event data: Events you add (titles, dates, times, locations, categories) are stored so you can view and edit them across devices when signed in.
- Screenshots and photos: Images you capture or select for events are processed to extract text (e.g. date, time) and may be stored to display event flyers in the app and, if you are signed in, to sync across your devices.
- Device and usage: We may collect device type, app version, and general usage (e.g. to fix crashes or improve the product). We use push notification tokens only to send you reminders you set.
2. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Provide and improve the Added service (event creation, calendar sync, reminders, Discover).
- Sync your events and preferences across devices when you are signed in.
- Send you local push reminders you configure for your events.
- Respond to support requests and comply with applicable law.
3. Storage and third parties
We use Appwrite for authentication, database, and file storage. Data is stored in secure, modern infrastructure. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or third parties for their marketing. We may share data only as required by law or to protect rights and safety.
4. Your choices and rights
- You can use Added as a guest with events stored only on your device.
- You can delete events and, if you have an account, request deletion of your account and associated data.
- You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
- If you are in a jurisdiction with additional rights (e.g. GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data; contact us to exercise these rights.
5. Children
Added is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and, for significant changes, we may notify you in the app or by email.
